COVID-19 Update 01/01/2023

When Covid became a part of our lives in early 2020, we had to make some adjustments to our traditional model of in-person, in-home/library tutoring. Home Tutoring Solutions has and will continue to comply with all federal, state and local guidelines currently in place during the COVID-19 Pandemic or any other major health concern that may arise. You and your student’s safety, and the safety of our tutors, are of the highest importance to us.

With that in mind, we are pleased to provide remote, online tutoring via Zoom or other similar online meeting platforms. We love the ability to share screens & documents as well as the option to enable a whiteboard as needed!

Currently, schools have resumed in-person classroom teaching, and most businesses and employers have resumed more-or-less “normal” operations.  Therefore, we are again offering in-person tutoring in many situations.  Online tutoring will continue to be a primary means of service delivery during COVID-19 or any other pandemic, and will continue to be available going forward.  During future spikes in Covid or any other major health concern, in-person tutoring may NOT be available at times, and we may require teachers and students to be vaccinated and to wear face masks for in-person services.

At this time, we have resumed offering in-person tutoring at public libraries.  This is in line with the libraries re-opening their facilities and meeting rooms as Covid numbers have subsided substantially since the last time they closed their facilities to public in-building use (early January 2022).  However, we will continue to offer online or virtual tutoring via Zoom as many prefer the convenience of this method of delivery.

For the safety of all concerned, the criteria for a student to receive in-person tutoring at a library are:

  1. The student must either be vaccinated, or the parents comfortable with the student meeting a tutor without being vaccinated.

  2. Masks are still highly recommended, and may be required by some libraries.

  3. The tutor may or may not be vaccinated and may or may not wear a mask.  The parent may ask about the tutor’s vaccination status and decide if they are comfortable with their student meeting with the tutor in-person.

  4. It is the responsibility of all parents and tutors to agree on whether or not they will have in-person meeting based on their comfort levels with in-person tutoring.

These guidelines may be updated in the future as we monitor Covid case counts and advice from public health officials.
